Series Scope and Content Summary
This series contains unframed labels which depict company names, company brands, and specific imagery created for the fruit/vegetable bushels that were used for transportation and harvesting. The labels are predominantly from Washington, Florida, and California. Cities represented in California include Exeter, Corona, Riverside, Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Placentia and others. Featured companies and associations include Exeter Fruit Association, Sequoia Fruit Growers Association, Calilfornia Fruit Exchange, Lambert Marketing Company, Fillmore Citrus Association, Gold Buckle Association, Evans Brothers Packing Company, and others. Featured fruits include oranges, lemons, pears, grapefruit, apples, and other fruit and vegetable varieties. Please note that some labels in this series contain offensive, harmful, or otherwise outdated imagery/language pertaining to race and gender.
