Collection Scope and Content Summary
This collection contains city maps, road maps, and guidebooks pertaining to California. The major metropolitan areas of northern and southern California including cities such as Palm Springs, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego are well represented in these materials. Coverage extends to parts of central California as well as the California public lands and national forests. These materials were primarily produced in the mid-late twentieth century by the cities and counties of California to promote travel and tourism within the state.
