Biographical Note
The City of San Bernardino celebrated its bicentennial in 2010, marking 200 years since its founding. Throughout the year, the city hosted a series of commemorative activities focused on community engagement, local history, and civic pride. Festivities included public events, cultural programs, and educational outreach designed to highlight San Bernardino’s heritage and its diverse communities. A major emphasis of the bicentennial was citywide beautification, with projects aimed at revitalizing neighborhoods, enhancing public spaces, and encouraging residents to take part in improvement efforts.
