This collection primarily contains photographs photographic prints, photograph albums, and digital photographs taken by local "community photograher" John Coleman of Inland Empire (Calif.) events, people, and organizations with a primary focus on the region's African American community. Also includes programs, fliers, and other materials collected by Coleman pertaining to events and organizations in the Inland Empire cities of Redlands, San Bernardino, and Riverside.

This collection contains photographs, negatives, and slides that document the history of the campus from its beginnings in 1960 as San Bernardino-Riverside State College to its present form as California State University, San Bernardino including the Palm Desert Campus.
